Traditional heirloom Turkish cayenne peppers, kirmizi biber, these are used by the Turks for many dishes, as well as a traditional natural Turkish remedy for gout (when added to tea). They are also good for slicing and spicing up pickles.

Plants grow compact, 2' to 2.5' tall while not bushing out much. Massively loaded with pods, will experience heavy blossom end rot without calcium additives. Pods in contact with the ground will rot rapidly. Pods do not last long once picked, not very shelf stable, but they dry (or smoke) very well. Smoked turkish cayenne is probably the best tasting food spice that came out of our home kitchen by the end of 2018, fantastic flavor for all sorts of dishes. (Was a tossup on whether these or aleppo powder were better tasting).
