These peppers are used in the traditional Turkish dish "biber dolmasi." This is a VERY sweet pepper which is used for stuffing. For recipe ideas, see our Facebook page.

Plants grow very compact - 1.5' tall. Space 12" apart on 3 foot rows. Try to avoid pod contact with ground to avoid rotting pods. Pods take a LONG time to reach full ripe on plants. Plants may only produce 15-20 pods each in a season. Plant multiples so that you can harvest enough pods for a meal at any given point in time. Shelf stable for a week or more in moderate humidity.
Hungry for nutrients and water as they set pods. To avoid pod size diminishing as pods set (e.g later pods will be smaller than earlier pods) consider adding a healthy dose of fertilizer as additional pods set. Unlike most large peppers these did not seem to have a problem with blossom end rot. No pathogens favored them, either. Solid producer in central IL.
